
Steven Linowes - Chief Executive Officer
Steve Linowes, brings a 20 year track record of success to the helm of Damballa.
A highly experienced senior executive at both entrepreneurial companies and
industry leaders, Mr. Linowes is known for his ability to grow early stage
opportunities into successful, scalable enterprises. Mr. Linowes has been the
CEO since the inception of Damballa and has built a world class team to address
the BotArmy threat. He has successfully led the company's efforts to sell
directly to Global 1000 enterprises, where the Damballa solution has detected
and eliminated significant, dangerous bot activity in every deployment. In
addition, he has established partnerships with key industry vendors to
incorporate Damballa's products into their market offerings. Prior to his
leadership at Damballa, Mr. Linowes founded and subsequently sold Mercatus
Communications, a leading communications application company with award-winning
products, to a large, publicly traded company in that market. Prior to Mercatus,
he held a variety of senior management positions with industry stalwarts
including Microsoft and Yahoo!, and startup companies such as Encompass, Inc.,
which was acquired by Yahoo! in 1999 for $130 million. An active champion of
community involvement, Mr. Linowes founded TechBridge, a non-profit organization
with more than 20 full-time employees that provides technology assistance to
hundreds of Southeastern, non-profit groups each year. He serves on the board of
the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, and has previously served on the
boards of Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Atlanta Urban League, and the Board
of Visitors of Emory University.

Jeff Scheel - Vice President of Sales and Corporate Development
Jeff Scheel has been involved in building successful technology companies for over twenty years. Most recently, Jeff has been involved in several successful security and authentication companies. He was CEO of Vocent Solutions, Inc., a leader in multi-channel authentication systems. PassMark Security acquired Vocent and Jeff became Corporate Development Officer at Passmark. In that role, Jeff led PassMark's industry partnerships and international sales. He also helped negotiate PassMark's successful sale to RSA Security. Prior to Vocent, Jeff was VP and GM of CRM Products at Siebel Systems, Inc. Jeff originally joined Siebel when it was a small private company and was part of the team that built the successful Siebel Alliances Program. He was instrumental in building global systems integration and technology relationships that were integral to Siebel's tremendous growth, and later served as VP and GM of Alliances. Jeff has also served in senior sales, marketing and business development roles at an impressive variety of companies, including Ask Jeeves, Skytel, Go Corporation, Oracle and Texas Instruments. He has been a visiting researcher at Stanford University's Technology Ventures Program, and has used his varied experiences to launch and re-launch companies, as well as initiate a number of profitable partnerships, mergers and acquisitions. Jeff earned a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard University.
Dr. Wenke Lee - Vice President of Research
As head of Research at Damballa, Dr. Lee leads a team tasked with developing next-generation algorithms and capabilities to identify and track BotArmies around the globe. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Columbia University in 1999. He is currently an associate professor in the College of Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology. He is an expert in systems and network security, wireless security, applied cryptography, and data mining. Wenke Lee has published more than 40 papers on intrusion detection in premier academic journals and conferences and has been the principal investigator of research projects funded by NSF, DARPA, DHS, ARO, ONR, and the security industry.
Tripp Cox - Vice President of Engineering
Tripp Cox is VP of Engineering for Damballa responsible for all engineering and operations. Prior to joining Damballa, Tripp was the Chief Technology Officer and VP of Technology at EarthLink, a national provider of Internet, wireless and voice communications services. In his 11 years at EarthLink, Tripp was responsible for all aspects of EarthLink's technology strategy, including products and services, back office, and information technology processes and governance. Immediately prior to his role as CTO, Tripp served as VP of Engineering, where he developed EarthLink's most visible products and services, including myEarthLink, TotalAccess, spamBlocker, Spyware Blocker, and ScamBlocker.
Bill Guerry - Vice President of Product Management
As VP of Product Management, Bill is responsible for Damballa's product and marketing strategy. After joining Internet Security Systems, Inc. in the late nineties, Bill formed several successful relationships between ISS and major technology and consulting companies such as Hewlett Packard, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, and Qwest. Afterwards, Bill spent six years at SecureWorks, Inc. running their Product Management and Corporate Strategy functions. Bill was a critical part of the management team that grew SecureWorks from 100 clients and $100,000 in annual revenue to over 1,700 clients and $50 million in revenue. The company is a three-time recipient of the Inc. 500 award as well as Deloitte and Touche's Fast 50 for Georgia and Fast 500 for the United States. Bill has an MBA in finance from Vanderbilt University and a BA in Political Science and Mathematics from the University of the South.
David Dagon - Chief Scientist
As Chief Scientist, David is responsible for envisioning ways to identify, monitor, and kill BotArmies both now and in the future. David received a J.D. from Florida State University College of Law, and is completing his Ph.D in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has authored numerous papers in premier academic conferences and has studied BotArmies as part of his Ph.D. research. He was involved with the development of a successful startup (ClickFox, LLP), and is the inventor of their patented technology.
