cyber threats, today announced that VP of Research Gunter Ollmann is a featured speaker at BlackHat, July 28-29 at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Ollmann’s presentation titled ‘Becoming a Six-Million-Dollar Man,’ takes place Thursday, July 29, 11:15 a.m. and is loosely based on the world of professional botnet operators, and how they operate and monetize the data and systems under their control. Damballa’s Sean Bodmer, senior threat research analyst, will present at DEF CON, Friday, July 30, 12:00 p.m. at the Riviera Hotel & Casino, in Las Vegas. His presentation is titled ‘Silence of the RAM.’

Silence of the Ram Session Description
During Bodmer’s presentation, he will cover concepts and methods that can be used to implement varying levels of psychological warfare with persistent threats operating 'within' an enterprise. He will illustrate how non-government security professionals can implement psychological warfare and operational deception against persistent threats. The session also covers deception, disinformation and counter intelligence tactics from a technical perspective. Bodmer will also cover some of the legal aspects of implementing these methods in a non-government environment.
