Leading Analyst Reveals Why Anti-Malware Solutions Aren’t Enough

ATLANTAAugust 18, 2010—Damballa Inc., the company transforming the fight against
cyber threats, today announced that it will host a webinar featuring leading internet security experts Andrew Jaquith, senior analyst with Forrester Research, Inc., and Gunter Ollmann, vice president of research for Damballa.  The webcast will present best practices for keeping enterprises free from advanced malware infection.

Jaquith will describe why enterprise security investments are overly focused on preventing compromises, rather than on detecting and responding to them.  In addition, he will discuss the key capabilities that mature enterprises need to aggressively manage risk, react to intrusions and restore their business operations.

Ollmann will explain the dynamics of command-and-control (CnC) administration used by criminal operators and the tricks they employ to defeat perimeter defense systems. He will also cover the behavior of these attacks within enterprise networks, and discuss techniques and tools that make it easier to detect and terminate a breach.
