Technology Interoperability Enables Automatic Quarantining of Infected Devices, Reduces Enterprise Risk and Time to Remediation
Atlanta – February 24, 2014 – Damballa, the experts in advanced threat protection and containment, today announced technology interoperability with HP that provides enhanced visibility of advanced threats within a network, automating and streamlining prevention and remediation. As a result, enterprises can reduce time to containment and the manpower required to keep up with advanced threats.
Damballa’s automated breach defense system helps enterprises fill the security gap between failed prevention and their incident response. Damballa Failsafe discovers and validates successful infections with certainty, so incident responders can quickly mitigate risk. As a result of the interoperability, organizations using the HP TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and HP TippingPoint Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) can now automatically quarantine any devices that Damballa identifies as ‘infected’. Damballa knows and provides the HP TippingPoint Security Management System (SMS) with the details of the infected device – enabling policy management.
“Enterprises are completely overwhelmed by constantly chasing alerts, and don’t have the resources to keep up with advanced threats that make it past their prevention controls,” said Paul Rolfe, Vice President of Alliances at Damballa. “To minimize business risk, you must shorten the time between successful infections and remediation, by automating both the discovery and containment of infected endpoints. The Damballa and HP products together enable customers to do just that, reducing their risk and streamlining incident response.”
“Organizations must be able to shift their focus from hunting down infected devices to remediating those devices,” said Rob Greer, vice president and general manager, TippingPoint, Enterprise Security Products, HP. “Thousands of enterprises depend on HP TippingPoint to block advanced threats that pose the biggest risk to their organizations, and together with Damballa’s ability to discover and validate infections, incident responders will have more breathing room to remediate.”
The interoperability is available for Damballa Failsafe and both the HP TippingPoint Next Generation IPS (NGIPS) and the HP TippingPoint Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) via the HP TippingPoint Security Management System (SMS) appliance.
